Drawing from the authoritative text Uṣūl al-ḥadīth wa-aḥkāmuhu authored by the esteemed Shaykh Jaʿfar Subḥānī, it delves into a thorough and detailed examination of the various methodologies and techniques employed in the classification of ḥadīth. Moreover, the course provides invaluable insight into how the ḥadīth's chain of narrators plays a pivotal role in facilitating scholars' understanding of the transmission of reports attributed to the Prophet and the Imams in Twelver Shiism. Meet the instructor

Wahid M. Amin

Dr Wahid M. Amin holds a DPhi in Islamic Philosophy from the University of Oxford, an MSt in Study of Religions also from the University of Oxford, a BA in Islamic Studies from the University of Birmingham and a BSc in Physics and Philosophy from Imperial College, London. He is a graduate of the 4-year seminary programme in Hawza studies from Al-Mahdi Institute where he now serves as Lecturer in Islamic Philosophy. He is also Associate Lecturer in Islamic Studies at the University of Birmingham.
